090: Reflecting on the past week, journalling and getting back to reading
By faten.banana - October 25, 2025
So... yeah. I am trying to take this week especially slow as I am still recovering. I am finally back at work this week after two weeks of medical leave. Medical leave that I did not expect I would be taken, two weeks and what all. Ada ke yang plan their medical leave? Lol. But anyway, it becomes a wake-up call for me.
"Rasa macam kena slap kiri kanan, with a jab to my chin sekali," I told my friends.
You know, sometimes it feels like we can still push through. Tapi apparently, badan dah out. Honestly, now that I have some time to myself, barulah aku perasan yang that week before that badan macam dalam immense stress dengan takcukup tidurnya (I have trouble sleeping, so I mostly tidur lewat than usual--especially that week). So peep, take care of yourself well! xx
This week I had a follow-up appointment. Other than having to restrict myself from caffeine (coffee, tea and matcha included T___T) as well as chocolate, I'm good to go. Other tests came out clear too, only my haemoglobin je yang a bit lower than usual. Basically, all I need is a lifestyle change. And mindset change sekali kot? Hahaha.
Anyway, I finally got my hands on the Mossery notebook and its cover. I chose one from @bungadanbintang, an illustrator yang I dah lama follow but for some reason I never had anything from her in my possession.
Sebenarnya, starting this year aku dah mula journalling balik. Cuma, guna notebook biasa dan traveller notebook. The thing with the traveller notebook is that it makes me feel tak puas menulis. Lagi-lagi bila tengah banyak benda dalam kepala. Now that I have already established the routine (+ occasion happened), I think I can already get the notebook. Hehe. I am thinking of getting one for work, but that can wait. It's definitely not going to be a Mossery one--a bit too colourful for work.
I also did some reading while I was resting. Sekarang, aku dalam proses nak alternate ke digital books actually. So, banyak buku fizikal aku dah slow-slow preloved aja dekat Shopee or Pasar Nadee (via Telegram). As of my reading, I usually get from Kobo Plus, Google Playbook takpun any accessible digital library. Perpustakaan Negara Malaysia had a lot of selection, but my go-to had always been the Digital Library of Korean Literature (LTI Korea) as I prefer reading Asian Literature more.
I still love physical books, but I try to be mindful of my purchases. Banyak buku end-up jadi a piling TBR, and I didn't like that. Masalah bookworm macam nilah. Tapi, aku happy je sebab dapat mula hobi membaca balik after such a long time.
Amidst all these, I really hope I can manage to squeeze in some genuine me time and live my life macam a proper adult with freedom to do things that she likes :)
Everyone does.
